Oxaliplatin, also known as oxaliplatin and loxadine, is a new platinum derivative. It is a stereoisomer that inhibits the synthesis and replication of DNA by generating alkylated binding on DNA and forming intra - and interchain crosslinking. It is the third generation of platinum anti-tumor compounds following cisplatin and carboplatin. It is mainly used for patients with colorectal cancer metastasis after failure of fluorouracil therapy, and can be used alone or in combination with fluorouracil. It is also the only platinum drug with significant activity on colorectal cancer so far.
